Duh! wood is all vegan! This is true, but it can be finished with beeswax or shellac, or glued together with animal based hide glue, or use animal products in the dye or paint.

We feature vegan friendly woodwork: made with salvaged wood when possible; finished with Manitoba hemp seed oil, lemon oil, and soy wax. (opposed to our non-vegan pieces which use locally sourced beeswax, or a commercial paste with unknown ingredients)

Vegan finish may feel slightly greasy when it is fresh. This is because the soy wax has a much lower melting point than beeswax, and the hemp oil coating has not polymerized yet. The oil will be solid within 30 days, and the wax will start feeling drier after a few weeks.

If the wood feels too dry for your liking, add a new coat of your favourite wood finish.
